Local, honest, and we genuinely love this stuff. We fix computers, networks and electronics properly, explain things in plain English, and tell you honestly what you need, and what you don’t.
How it started
Falls Technology Services started with a kid taking things apart to find out how they worked, and then working out how to put them back together. That turned into electronics, then small scripts, then computers.
One early project: a pile of old school computers, combined into one good computer. They kept breaking, which meant learning how to fix them. Later, a job at an electronics recycler meant taking apart just about every kind of device there is and seeing what’s inside. Then came a repair shop, with training in phone and small-electronics repair, soldering and board-level repair.
Then came management, in several different kinds of business. The common thread: stepping back, seeing where the time and money go, and making things run more simply.
Why Falls Technology Services
Working for other businesses meant seeing corners cut and rules not followed. Falls Technology Services is the business our founder wanted to work for: do the job right, be straight with people, and treat customers like neighbours.
It’s still the hobby, too. Off the clock, that means a home lab of servers, security research, and something open on the electronics bench.
How we work
- Honest advice. We tell you what you need and what you don’t, including when a replacement is cheaper than a repair.
- No surprises. We tell you what it takes before we start, and bigger jobs are quoted first.
- Plain English. You’ll understand what we did and why.
- Simpler ways of working. We’ve seen a lot of different business software and ways of doing things. If your team repeats the same task every day, we’ll look for a way to make it quicker or cheaper.
We also build business software through our partner company, GridFrame Labs, and run our own office on it.
Questions people ask
Where do you work?
We're based in Idaho Falls and work on site within about 50 miles: Idaho Falls, Ammon, Iona, Ucon, Rigby, Shelley, Rexburg, Blackfoot and nearby. Many things can also be fixed remotely.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
How much will it cost?
We tell you what it takes before we start, and bigger jobs are quoted first, so there are no surprises. If a repair would cost more than it's worth, we say so.
How can I pay?
By card, through the secure online link on your invoice (handled by Stripe, so your card details never reach us), or in cash.
Do you work with homes or only businesses?
Both. Most of our work is for small businesses, and we help at home too.
