We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, larger text, or who are sensitive to motion.
What we do
- Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
- Keyboard: every link, button and form field can be reached with the Tab key, in a sensible order, with a clear focus outline. A "Skip to content" link comes first.
- Screen readers: pages use real headings, labelled form fields, and text descriptions for pictures; decorative animations are hidden from screen readers.
- Accessibility button (bottom left of every page): larger text, high contrast, underlined links, an easier-to-read font, more line spacing, and stopping animations. Your choices are remembered in your own browser.
- Motion: the moving background can be paused with "Pause animation" at the bottom of every page, and it stays still if your device asks for reduced motion.
- Light and dark mode, switched with the button at the top of the page.
- Testing: before every change goes live we check every page with automated accessibility tests, in light and dark mode, on desktop and phone, and test the keyboard by hand.
Known limits
Automated tests can't find every barrier. If something on this website is hard for you to use, we want to know.
