In most shops and offices, Wi-Fi problems come from asking one consumer router to cover a space it was never meant to.
One router rarely covers a business
Walls, shelving, metal racks, refrigerators and other buildings' Wi-Fi all weaken the signal. Two or three access points spread through the space, connected by cable, give strong Wi-Fi everywhere instead of one great room and several bad ones.
Put access points where people work
- Up high and in the open, near where devices are used
- Not inside cabinets, behind metal, or on the floor
- One near the counter or checkout, where card readers depend on it
A separate network for guests
Customers, staff phones and smart gadgets go on a guest network, so they can't reach your business computers, card readers or files.
Wire what matters
Desktops, printers, point-of-sale stations and security camera recorders are more reliable on a network cable than on Wi-Fi.
Keep it updated and secured
- Change the default admin password on the router and access points
- Turn on automatic updates where available
- Use WPA3 or at least WPA2 security, with a strong Wi-Fi password
- Replace equipment that no longer gets updates
We measure where your signal drops, recommend exactly what's needed and the price, and set it up properly.
