The honest answer is "it depends on what's wrong", so here's what it depends on, and what we actually charge.
What decides the price
- Whether it's software (slow, pop-ups, won't update) or hardware (a part has failed)
- Whether a part is needed, and what that part costs for your model
- How long it takes to find the fault: most are quick, some come and go and take longer to pin down
Our prices
- Checking what's wrong with a computer, laptop or software problem: a free quick check
- Harder-to-test faults: $75 an hour, up to an hour unless you OK more, and that time counts toward the repair if you go ahead
- Repairs: $75 an hour, or a set price for common jobs, always quoted before we start
- Virus or scam clean-up: from $75 (most take 1 to 2 hours)
- Parts: our cost plus a small handling charge, or bring your own and pay only for the work
We come to you in Idaho Falls and nearby. Work that needs our bench, we collect and bring back.
When it isn't worth fixing
If a repair would cost more than about half of a comparable new computer, or the computer can't run a supported version of Windows, we'll tell you, and help you move everything to a new one instead.
Every repair comes with our 90-day limited warranty on our work and the parts we supply.
