A broken screen doesn't mean a broken laptop. In most cases the screen can be replaced and everything else stays exactly as it was.
Screen or something else?
- Cracks, spreading ink-like blotches or a white screen: almost always the screen panel itself
- Flickering or lines that change when you move the lid: often the cable that runs through the hinge
- A black screen with the computer clearly running: connect a TV or monitor to check whether it's the screen or the graphics
Keep working meanwhile
Plug in an external monitor, keyboard and mouse and you can keep using the laptop until it's repaired. Back up anything important now.
What a replacement involves
Screens are specific to each model, and touchscreens cost more than plain ones. We find the exact part for your model, tell you the price before ordering, and fit it. If the repair would cost more than the laptop is worth, we tell you that too.
